Veronica Mars: Resolution

Well, that was a cool wrap-up to a satisfying mystery. And for once, Veronica managed to solve the case without being drugged, stabbed, menaced, kidnapped or nearly burned alive. She’s getting better at this!

Again, we were loving all the great film noir touches in this episode – heck, in this whole mystery arc. It was appropriately twisty, full of dead ends and double crosses, dangerous women and nasty schemes. We half expected Keith to start quoting Bogie before it was all over.

Mindy made a great femme fatale – she was channeling Barbara Stanwyck or Rita Hayworth when she slipped on her sunglasses, took the insurance check and went out to buy a boat. It sure looked like she had planned everything and was willing to sacrifice Landry to the cops to satisfy her greed.

At first, we were buying Landry as the unwitting patsy done in by his duplicitous lover. Then, when he showed up on the boat? We were convinced he was in on it with her. It looked like they had pulled off the perfect crime – until it all went wrong. That’s the problem with film noir – the cheating lovers rarely get a happy ending.

Up until the last minute, we were convinced Landry and Mindy were the real villains in the Dean’s murder. Imagine our surprise when Veronica found the real killer at the last minute. Apparently, there’s nothing more dangerous than a TA scorned. Nice try, Tim, and you might have gotten away with it, if you didn’t decide to show off in class – in front of Veronica. That’s always a bad idea.

One thing we can’t figure out about Keith – why the hell doesn’t he ban Veronica from the police station? He has to know that every time she shows up, she’s going to be stealing files or riffling through evidence drawers or otherwise mucking up the chain of evidence. The girl just can’t seem to help herself.

On to the character bits. What did you think of the Logan/Parker/Veronica situation? We’re glad Parker and Logan seem to be getting together – they seem to fit together well, you know? Plus, Parker can encourage Logan’s better angels without being quite as judgey as Veronica (we love the girl, but damn, she can be harsh…) We’re looking forward to seeing how that works out.

So what did you think of the resolution to the mystery? Were you surprised by the Tim reveal, or had you pegged him as the killer long ago? Did Mindy’s death shock you? Do you think Parker and Logan make a good match, or is it a disaster waiting to happen? And what sort of trouble do you think Veronica and Keith will get into next? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Top Model's Danielle Is Featured In Elle (Yes, We Like to Rhyme)

America's Next Top Model's Cycle 6 winner, Danielle, is featured in the March issue of Elle! Check out this pic of her looking all glammed up, then check out the mag for a full Danielle spread.

A few choice quotes from her interview:

On her ambitions: "I want to make a name for myself outside of 'reality TV model.' I want the respect of designers and photographers. I want ad campaigns. I want to be someone's muse."

On her controversial accent: "When I came home and watched the show, I heard myself using slang and I could understand where Tyra was coming from. As a successful black woman in the industry, she doesn't want to have another African-American fall into that stereotype."

Were you a fan of Danielle in Cycle 6? What'd you think of the controversy surrounding her accent?

Anyway, we think she looks pretty awesome -- what do you think?

Smackdown Video: King Booker Talks Trash, Plus Ashley and Kane

Watch out, WWE Smackdown fans! We scored interviews with some of your favorites, and they didn't hold back. Watch and find out about King Booker's few weaknesses (hint: one of them is edible) which magazine diva Ashley will appear in, and who Kane considers his nemesis!

Are They Serious?!?!

America's Next Top Model

One of our fave sites, Dlisted.com, reports that the residents of Santa Monica objected to the placement of America's Next Top Model ads on its buses. The city pulled them after several complaints. SM's transit director believes the ads objectify women and are of poor taste.

What do you think, Top Model fans? We say, if you don't like the ads, look away. If you are not in the favor of the show, don't watch. Apparently censorship is still alive and well!

Justice League Film: Fact or Fiction?

Justice League

Smallville fans, your wishes may soon be granted... sort of. While we have not heard anything more about a Justice League spin-off for The CW, a Justice League movie may be in the works. Kiernan and Michele Mulroney are the hired hands, according to Zap2it.com. No word yet on casting or directing.

What do you think of this latest development? Would you rather see a big screen interpretation, or do you think The CW should still give a series based on the Justice League a shot?

MORE: Episode description for 'Promise," airing Thursday, March 15!

EVEN MORE: John Glover to star on Broadway!

Post of the Week: These Are Fighting Words

"I am bitterly disappointed about the segment about tattoos. I may not watch anymore. The idea of a man of God having one... Read: “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks upon you” (Lev. 19:28). This is outragious. I was bitterly disappointed." - Mary Overmyer, in response to 7th Heaven: The Tattoos That Wagged a Thousand Tongues

Do you agree with Mary? Are you done with 7th Heaven after the writers gave every member of the Camden family permanent artwork on their bodies? We see her point, but we'd love to see this season end with a Ruthie/T-Bone nuptial! How about that?! Food for thought for the weekend, Sourcesters!

Supernatural: YouTube Gets Us Through

Sigh. No new Supernatural for the next few weeks. And while we enjoy reruns, we don't really feel like rehashing the episode on the blog again. What to do?

How about share some more of our favorite Supernatural fan art? Here are some of the YouTube videos that we obsessively watch over and over to satisfy our Supernatural jones.

We love the show, but sometimes, it's kind of depressing, what with the death and the violence and the angst and the murky lighting. When that gets too much for us, we turn to MalevolentMe's Happy Supernatural boys vid. We defy you to watch this without breaking into a huge grin.

When we want to laugh hysterically, we take a look at these South Park/Supernatural mash-ups. Check out Supernatural in the Park from hay1ock and askewedmind's take on Big Gay Al's theme song "I'm Super." Just a (common sense) warning - when we're talking about both the Supernatural boys and the South park tykes, you know there's bound to be some naughty language.

Some musical artists seem particularly suited to the Supernatural boys. Tenacious D is one of those artists. Check out hopeonarope's take on Wonderboy, as well as robin1618's vid set to Tribute.

We would stack the Winchester brothers up against just about any superhero on the block. hardtobreathex3 agrees - check out this vid set to the Batman theme song (with bonus points for comparing the Metallicar to the Batmobile.) And if you prefer slightly less traditional heroes, take a look at LovinDean's video comparing Sam and Dean to a breed of sweet and chewy crimefighters.

Finally, here's a couple of seriously funny vids. Karowyn combines two of our favorite things - the season 1 gag reel and Weird Al Yankovic - in the Supernatural Polka. And arcthalia imagines a conversation between John Winchester and the Yellow-Eyed Demon as they compare childrearing woes. It's completely wrong, and just ever so right.

What are you doing to get through these weeks of reruns? What are your favorite YouTube vids? Share your thoughts in the comments!

The CW Fan of the Week: Cali Gal Talks Gilmore and More

The CW Fan of the Week
Name: Mishalene N.

Hometown: Inglewood, CA

Why do you love The CW? I watch the CW more than any other station! I watch the Monday night line-up from Everybody Hates Chris to The Game. On Tuesdays, I'm a Gilmore Girl. (Please get Lorelai and Luke back on track. Maybe they can start over with the dating thing and then he can propose to her). On Wednesdays it's all about One Tree Hill. I am faithful to America's Next Top Model (can't wait for the new season), and I've caught a few of the Geeks.

Tell us about your love for Gilmore. I love Gilmore Girls basically because of the relationship between Lorelai and Rory. I think they have the greatest relationship, and everyone else around them is like the branches of their tree. Although the braches may get bent, fall off or whatever, the tree still stands strong.

Who's your favorite character? I can't say. I love the entire cast. Sookie is wonderfully bubbly, then you have Luke, who I just adore; all of the cast is great and add to the willingness to DVR when I'm not at home.

Which season or event on the show is your favorite? I was happy when Luke and Lorelai got together and when Luke and Christopher fought in the snow.

Which Top Model is your fave? When Eva was on the show, I said from the first episode that she would win. I was was impressed when Tyra kind of gave her the heads up and told her to stop crying and go on... so to speak!

The last season was a hot mess, and I couldn't stop watching! As with other seasons, I predicted who would win in the first episode, but I was way wrong with a vote for Monique. I was so disgusted with her; I wanted her removed way before she was and then their was Melrose... please. Can't forget the judges, who make you want to kill them and then be on their sides again.

What else are you up to besides watching The CW? I work in property management, and I love movies. I go to movie screenings and like to catch movies I want to see when they first come out. I also write poetry and love music of all sorts if they have a message or are funny (not profane). I don't like when things seem too ignorant (like Lorelai being married to Christopher).

Do you want to be the next Fan of the Week? E-mail us and tell us why you should be featured!

Top Model Video: Meet the Models

So you might've already seen the pics of Cycle 8's competitors for America's Next Top Model -- and if you haven't, check out this gallery. But the only way to really know what kind of TV we're in for next week is to hear what the models have to say about themselves, so we've got some awesome video interviews with all 13 girls.

So far, we're digging Brittany's laid-back vibe and Kathleen's tell-it-like-it-is 'tude. We like that Jaslene's representing for Latinas, and her striking look sets her apart from the other girls (though she seems kinda intense). Cassandra seems pretty cool, too -- like someone we'd want to hang out with.

Felicia, dear, just because you're quiet and trying to escape your old life doesn't mean you should be a model (though you are very pretty). Also, what's up with Jael? She seems more into music than modeling, and she also seems kinda out of it during the interview.

Oh, and can we just borrow Kathleen's awesome Brooklyn accent for one day? Pretty please?

Go ahead -- check 'em out for yourselves.

Just added: A must-see sneak peek at the first episode!

New CW Shows Available on iTunes!

We're psyched to spread the good news -- effective immediately, episodes of Everybody Hates Chris and Girlfriends are available for download on iTunes!

Additionally, episodes from America's Next Top Model will be made available in early March -- just a few weeks away!

All the new CW offerings on iTunes are from the current 2006/2007 season, and you can purchase new eps the day after they air. Episodes will be priced at $1.99 each.

We love this -- now we can watch our fave shows anywhere -- at the gym, on the train, at work (wait, we didn't just say that out loud, did we?).

Beauty and the Geek: The Aftermath

We have to admit, we were somewhat disappointed by the Beauty and the Geek wrap-up show. Where were the fireworks? Where was the violence? Where was Cecille running after Nate with a flamethrower? Come on, folks, indulge our bloodlust!

Alas, it was not to be. This was a review show, not a reunion, like we thought. Nate and Jennylee were the only folks who actually saw each other again. Yes, we're glad they were happy to see each other again, and that they're still into each other. But what we really wanted to see was Nate meeting Cecille again. Dude, he told everyone to vote against her! She had to be furious. But no, we just got a very short interview with her poo-pooing the idea that she needed to be fixed. Plus, no real update on what she's been up to since the filming. Do you think she cut the interview short when they tried to get her to reflect?

What did you think of the Scooter and Megan follow-up interviews? We thought Scooter still looked pretty comfortable in his own skin, and we're glad to hear he's invested the money (although we had no idea that Drew was so single-minded about his investment club.) Megan… yeah. She never was really the deepest person in the house, was she? We're glad she got a dog, and enjoyed the hot tub, but is that really all she took from the experience? Oh well – it's still better that she won than Cecille.

We were glad to catch up with our favorite couple, Nadia and Mario. Congratulations on getting married, Mario! That's awesome. We loved some of the previously unseen footage featuring them. Nadia seemed one of the most laid-back, open beauties. How adorable was she trying on the Star Trek uniform? She just seemed to be having so much fun. And Mario had some great quotes. Suggesting Cecille replace Indian food with "crazy bitch food"? Brilliant.

We loved the dance party scene. Drew breaking out the light sticks and dancing to techno made us laugh – where the heck did he get those? Scooter's awkward clog dance was oddly appealing – he's so very geeky, but it suits him. And again, Nadia just looked like she was having a hell of a good time.

We do kind of wish we'd heard a little more from some of the other contestants – how did Tori and Sanjay feel about being the first couple booted? Has Pi stopped looking at boobs and started listening to women? Is Sheree going into television broadcasting? Did Matt ever figure out that Cecille was, you know, evil?

What did you think of the wrap-up show? What did you want to see? What was your favorite previously unseen moment? Did anyone surprise you? Share your thoughts in the comments.

OTH: Farewell, Rachel... Hello, Derek!?

So she got several people killed and she was a terrible human being, but we’ve seen the softer side of Rachel lately, and we’re going to miss that crazy kid! And on the flip side, we’re seeing the ugly side of Brooke! How could she let Rachel take the fall for her? And how could she be so self-righteous toward Peyton when she was hiding the fact that she cheated with Nathan for the last two years!? It’s incredible that karma doesn’t show up at her doorstep! Well, maybe it did in the form of Chase dumping her, but still... do you think Brooke is getting what she deserves?

For that matter -- is Peyton? If you don't like her, then you're probably loving the reappearance of Evil Derek... but if you do, then you're wondering how much more this girl can take in one school year! We have to admit -- we're freaked out about her safety.

Meanwhile, Brooke and Mouth headed to prom together and Haley and Nathan made up (thank goodness! We hate it when they fight). What'd you think of the Haley/Nathan drama this week? Was Haley right to be upset about his fling with Brooke? We're unsure -- on one hand, it really didn't have anything to do with their relationship, and some things are better left unsaid. But on the other hand, they're married, and couples should be honest with each other. It's one thing if Brooke were some random girl, but she's Haley's friend, and now Hales feels a bit betrayed by both Brooke and Nathan. We understand where she's coming from, and we think Nathan handled the situation well. How sweet is it that Hales was the only one on his list of girls he's loved? Deb's right -- Haley really has changed him over the past few years.

So much to discuss after this episode! Vote on the most shocking moment!

Plus, read a full recap and discuss in the comments!

Veronica Mars: Sheriff Lamb? Nooooooooo!

What? Sheriff Lamb? Nooooooooo! Yes, he was an obnoxious jerk who terrorized Keith and Veronica. Yes, he had an unerring instinct for jumping to the wrong conclusion in just about any mystery. Yes, we think Keith would make a better sheriff. But that doesn’t mean we wanted him dead! We were shocked when Mindy’s ex bludgeoned him during the home invasion, but we still didn’t expect him to end up like that. Wow.

But let’s back up a bit: What a great episode. The mysteries were appropriately twisty, the lines were deliciously snarky, and a couple of character-development whammies made us squeal with delight. Plus, just about everyone showed up – Wallace! Mac! Weevil! Parker! Vinnie! Cliff! Lamb! We think the only people we were missing were Dick and Piz. Vote on your favorite character moment in the polls!

Let’s start with the fun stuff: The Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt was pretty adorable. We love that Logan got sucked into the madness, and we’re actually glad that he had such a good time with Parker. We hope this isn’t going to make things even more awkward between him and Veronica, but let’s face it – things have never not been awkward between those two. Plus, Mac and Bronson got it on. Eeeeeee! Oh, Mac, we’re so happy you’ve found a guy to help you get over the trauma that was Cassidy.

As film noir fans, we have to say we loved the way this episode was shot. Did you notice all the off-kilter camera angles, the way the shadows fell across the scenes, hell, even Mindy’s femme fatale hair and makeup? Good stuff.

And then there were all the shocking twists and turns in the mystery arena. We found out how Josh used peanut butter cookies to break out of jail -- apparently he’s not as dumb as he looks. He is, however, maybe a little psycho – what’s with kidnapping Mason and throwing him in the trunk of his car? We found out what happened to the coach – assisted suicide disguised as a carjacking to take him out before Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (wait – as in Mad Cow disease?) resulted in a painful death. We’re not quite sure why Josh still needed to flee the country – surely if the insurance company thought the coach was murdered, the double indemnity clause wouldn’t kick in? -- but we felt bad for him nonetheless. But oh, Veronica – work on that plausible deniability for Keith from now on – he’s going to need that.

The plot thickens with the Dean O’Dell murder, too. Who bugged Landry’s phone? Did Mindy’s ex type O’Dell’s fake suicide note? Now that the timeline for the fatal shot has been moved back one hour, what does this mean for all the suspects? How did Landry’s bloody shirt get in the heating system – and how did it get bloody in the first place? And seriously, mad cow disease being mentioned out of nowhere? We can’t help but wonder if that fits in somewhere, too. Perhaps we’re getting paranoid.

Which suspect have you fingered for the O’Dell murder? What would you think of a Logan/Parker match up? Will you be wearing black in honor of poor slain Sheriff Lamb? Tell all in the comments!

Spoiler City: What Will Come of Lana's Pregnancy?

Smallville

A week without new Smallville... Sigh. While "Justice" is one of our favorites to date, we're always jonesing for fresh episodes. Then again, we (and you) might need some time to regroup after reading these latest spoilers...

Apparently, Lana loses the baby. No surprise there. Really, could this dreary event in her life have ended any other way? But is it the result of something Lex does to her? We think not. After all, Lex must know she would not have agreed to marry him if there was no little bugger involved.

Also, as we noted before, Lynda Carter of Wonder Woman fame will be joining the cast as Chloe’s ma for the April 12 episode, “Progeny.” This should be a pivotal episode, especially now that Chloe’s got some serious issues of her own now. Perhaps it's our heroine's turn to ask for some advice.

Hmm, what else? Another WWE star, Kane, will make an appearance. Finally, a little bird whispered in our ear that Martha will be taking a trip down Dark Side Lane by the time this season wraps up. Is there any truth to that rumor, fellow Smallville fans?

Beauty and the Geek Video: The Aftermath

Going through Megan and Scooter withdrawal already? We've got your cure: a video interview of the Beauty and the Geek winners. Find out how they plan to spend their earnings (here's a clue -- Megan may be in need of a PSA from a skin cancer group), what they really thought of Nate and Cecille, and more!

7th Heaven: The Tattoos That Wagged a Thousand Tongues

Have a few tattoos EVER caused so much controversy? Ruthie and T-Bone's new body art had the entire town of Glenoak freaking out. Kevin, eager to get the scoop, bribed Mac to find out the truth. Meanwhile, Lucy flipped out on Kevin... turns out she has a tattoo of her own. And so do all the other Camden siblings! This is the show's 11th season, and we're just finding this out? Best of all, Reverend Camden and Annie totally knew, and they've enjoyed watching the kids anxiously try to hide their tattoos over the years.

We wish their laid-back attitude could have extended to the spying, though. It wouldn't be 7th Heaven without family gossip, but last night's episode seemed especially heavy on the "Don't tell her I told you!" kind of gossip.

In a climactic moment that could only happen on 7th Heaven, Ruthie announced that she had something to confess to her parents -- just as Lucy, Savannah, Kevin, Sandy, and half the town appeared in the Camden kitchen with their own confessions. After all that, Ruthie announced that she hated her tattoo. We were shocked to see that while T-Bone had a tiny tattoo of Ruthie's initials, Ruthie went all-out with a rather large "T-Bone" spelled out across her backside. That one won't be easy to cover up.

What'd you think of Ruthie's tattoo -- and the controversy it inspired? And what about the promise ring from T-Bone? What surprised you the most about last night's episode? Discuss in the comments!

Smallville: Who's the 'Freak' Now?

Smallville
Interesting episode that gave us plenty to think about. Chloe is a meteor freak? Lana is trying to keep Clark's secret? Lex is capable of killing just about anyone? (Okay, we knew about that last one.) Interesting indeed.

So what do you think Lex was doing with the meteor freaks he kidnapped? Was he sucking out their powers, or just tagging them so he could grab them again if he ever wanted to start his war? And what sort of powers - if any - will Chloe develop? We can't wait to see how this plays out.

We were also intrigued by Lana's reactions. She's starting (finally!) to figure things out, and it really looks like she wants to keep Clark's secret. Do you think he should just tell her already, or is it too late? And will she be able to keep the secret from Lex?

We squirmed at Clark's impromptu laser surgery on Chloe. We can't help but think, though - if you wanted to make sure she wasn't going to move while you were drilling into her shoulder with your heat vision, Clark, maybe you should have, you know, made her lie down? Perhaps it wouldn't have been as dynamic a shot, but it sure would have made more sense.

What did you think? Do you want Chloe to develop a power, or would you hate that change? Will Lex and Lana actually go through with their wedding?

POLL: What did you think of this episode? Take the poll!

Farewell, Reba. We Will Miss You.

Reba
This Sunday at 7/6c, Reba will ends its incredible run. Check out our Q&A session with the star of the show herself.

Sigh. While we're confident our beloved show will continue in syndication, we still wish we could see the series live on forever. We loved everything from Reeb's opening theme song to Barbra Jean's wackiness to Kyra's snarkiness to Van's brainlessness. All the characters felt like our friends and neighbors, even though they were just characters on a TV show.

Will you miss Reba? Who will you miss the most? Who was your favorite special guest?
