Kristin Kreuk, Hero for Girls

Lana Lang's motives are still unknown on Smallville -- is she good? Is she evil? What does she have up her sleeve? Kristin Kreuk is a lot easier to figure out -- she's definitely one of the good guys!

Need proof? Kristin co-founded an organization, Girls by Design, to help teen girls explore, express, create and realize their potential. Now Girls by Design is co-sponsoring a retreat for teen girls in the LA area, designed to help them balance their lives. They're holding a contest to select 30 girls to attend, free of charge. Check out the rules at the Time Out for Teens site!

CW Stars Up for Multiple Teen Choice Nominations

Eonline reports that Gossip Girl received a whopping 14 Teen Choice nominations, including Best Drama, Best Breakout Show, and Choice TV Actor/Actress.

It's true that GG is everywhere on the list of nominations. All three female leads (Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Taylor Momsen) are up for Best Breakout Female Star, and we were especially excited to see Ed Westwick's Chuck Bass nominated for Choice TV Villain along with Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum. But One Tree Hill also earned its fair share of nominations, including Choice TV Drama, Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush for Choice TV Actress and Chad Michael Murray for Choice TV Actor. Our complaint: where are James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Galeotti? They deserve some noms, too!

Other shows represented include America's Next Top Model (Cycle 10 winner Whitney is up for Choice TV Female Reality Star, Tyra is up for Choice TV Personality, and the show itself is in the running for Choice TV: Reality Beauty and Makeover), Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (for Reality Music Competition), and Smallville (Choice TV Show Action/Adventure, Choice TV Actor/Actress Action/Adventure for Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk). Even Beauty and The Geek made the list with a nomination for Choice TV: Reality Beauty & Makeover.

Notably absent from the list: Supernatural and Reaper. And what about Everybody Hates Chris, Aliens in America, Girlfriends, and The Game? We think these shows were seriously overlooked -- do you agree?

Let us know what you think of the nominations in the comments!

Smallville: Kristin Kreuk Still in Contract Talks

Kristin KreukRemember back in May when Lana's car exploded in the season finale of Smallville? Come on, guys. We miss us some Smallville, but it wasn't that long ago. We totally remember. At first we thought, Ah, TPTB could never kill off one of the show's most iconic characters. However, it looks like that could very well be the case after all.

There is still no confirmation that Kristin Kreuk will be returning to Smallville for Season 7. However, in the world of television such negotiations could change direction swiftly and at any moment. Lana fans, cross your fingers.

We know Lana is a divisive character, but be honest—will you miss her? Smallville without Ms. Lang Luthor Lang would just be strange, don't you think?

MR and KK Venture Outside of Smallville

Michael Rosenbaum

Michael Rosenbaum is in demand these days. Not only did he just finish directing his first episode of Smallville, but now he has two upcoming film projects, a comedy, Kicking It Old Skool, and an animated flick, Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight.

We're so happy for him. All this talk of Season Seven being his last had us wondering if we'd ever see him again... But now we know he's not leaving us for good, and we can sleep a little better tonight. *wink*

For the full story, click here!

MR's not the only busy one on the set. Kristin Kreuk has been working on an Operation Iraqi Freedom documentary with her boyfriend, actor Mark Hildreth. Check out this video for more information about this very interesting and thought-provoking project.

Smallville returns tomorrow night, 8/7c!

Lana: Off With Her Head?

Lana/Kristin
This ditty from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette summarizes how a strong contingent of Smallville fans feel about Lana Lang... You want her gone! For good!

Wow. We knew there we some of you out there, but we forgot just how opinionated you guys are.

However, writer Rob Owen takes it one step further and blames Kristin Kreuk as well, calling her a "pretty one-note, awful actress." Double wow! Hey, Rob, acting isn't easy. We'd like to see you try it. What, no? You prefer the safety of your cubicle, you say? Well, then shush.

What do you think? You all want Lana gone for good? Or would a sabbatical be enough? Is KK as bad of an thespian as Mr. Owen claims? If you were a writer, what would you do with the character?

(Thanks, Marike!)

Clana: Back on Track?

Kristin Kreuk

We're as surprised as anyone that Lana has returned to the forefront of Clark's life. Then we got to thinking, "Hmm, what has Ms. Kreuk been up to lately?" We haven't heard much about her for a while. But today the Toronto Sun catches up with KK while she's on tour for her latest film, Partition. Check out the interview here!

Do you think there's any hope for Clana? Or is this revisitation of an ultimately doomed relationship just another stop in Clark's journey to Lois? What kind of roles you would you like to see Kristin undertake in the future?
